Pavement Management - Optional Modules

Pavement Segments screen

Pavement Management is a complete system. Based on FHWA and PMS standards, this module tracks condition, cost and other information on each pavement segment in the system. Based on condition index, traffic and road type, it identifies segments most in need of repair and suggests rehabilitation techniques and costs.

Work can be performed on segments or "routes" (a collection of segments). Costs for people, equipment and inventory flow to specific segments and update segment costs. Inspection dates and schedules are maintained by segment. Roads are prioritized for rehabilitation analysis
  1. Each Master Record contains data on the segment, condition, features, when last inspected, when last repaired, inspection intervals, etc.
  2. Costs associated with maintaining segment flow from Time Ticket module to specific segment.
  3. Extensive reporting. Segments due inspection are included in Alert Reports.
  4. Contains Log Points for GIS/GPS applications.

Rehabilitation Cost Matrix suggests the most effective technique and cost estimates.
Rehab Cost Matrix screen
  1. Based on road type, condition index, traffic and other factors, a rehabilitation suggestion and cost estimate is provided.
  2. A Priority Matrix segments roads by road type, traffic and condition index.
  3. Extensive reporting. Segments due inspection are included in Alert Reports.
  4. Contains Log Points for GIS/GPS applications.

Inspection Condition Factors

Inspection Condition Factors allow the user to determine the condition factors for road segments scientifically.  User-defined distress factors calculate Pavement Condition Index.  The Inspection module records and updates condition of pavement segments.
  1. Allows user to prioritize road work by road condition.
  2. Allows user to determine how distress is measured (i.e., by each, per lane foot, depth, diameter, etc.)
  3. Allows users to define severity deductions for low, medium or high for each distress factor.
  4. Each distress can be evaluated by a different standard.
